Sri Naanmadhiya Perumal Temple

Sri Naanmadhiya Perumal Temple at Thiruthalaichanga Nanmathiyam is a revered Divya Desam near Sirkazhi celebrated by Thirumangai Azhwar in the Divya Prabandham. The deity's name "Naanmadhiya" refers to the four (Naan) crescent moons (Madhiya), symbolizing the Lord who shines with the cool, soothing radiance of four moons. The temple name also alludes to the four Vedas, as the Lord is the ultimate truth revealed in all Vedic scriptures. Located in the sacred Sirkazhi region — home of Thirugnana Sambandar and close to many Divya Desams — this temple is an important part of the Chola Nadu pilgrimage circuit.
