Sri Narayana Perumal Temple (Thirumanimaadakkoil)

Sri Narayana Perumal Temple at Thirumanimaadakkoil is one of the eleven celebrated Divya Desams in the Thirunangur cluster near Sirkazhi, praised by Thirumangai Azhwar in the Divya Prabandham. The name "Thirumanimaadakkoil" means "temple with a jeweled pavilion (Mani Maadham)," evoking the resplendent beauty of the Lord's shrine adorned with precious gems. The deity Narayana represents the primordial form of Vishnu — the one who resides in all beings and in whom all beings reside. The Thirunangur cluster of eleven Divya Desams is famous for the annual Garuda Sevai festival, when the deities from all eleven temples are brought together in a grand procession. This is one of the most spectacular Vaishnavite festivals in the Chola Nadu region.
