About Sri Thirukkuralappan Temple

Sri Thirukkuralappan Temple at Thiruvanparisaram is the southernmost Divya Desam in Tamil Nadu, located in Kanyakumari district and praised by Nammalvar in the Divya Prabandham. The deity's name "Thirukkuralappan" means "the divine short one" — a reference to the Vamana avatara, where Lord Vishnu appeared as a diminutive Brahmin boy and then expanded to cosmic proportions (Trivikrama) to measure the three worlds with His footsteps. The contrast between the Lord's humble appearance and His infinite power is a central theme of Sri Vaishnava theology. Thiruvanparisaram is believed to be an ancient site with connections to the Pandya and Chera kingdoms, standing at the crossroads of Tamil and Kerala cultural traditions.
